The Medical Billing Specialist plays a crucial role in the healthcare industry. This position involves monitoring medical claims, investigating rejections and denials, and documenting account activities.
Key Responsibilities:- Verify patient eligibility and benefits for accurate coverage.
- Review and submit claims in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Obtain prior authorizations to support smooth claim approvals.
- Monitor claim status and conduct follow-up to ensure prompt payment.
- Research and resolve claim rejections and denials, implementing measures to prevent future occurrences.
- Generate patient statements and document all account activities accurately.
- Manage collections from various payers, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance.
- Understand and apply eligibility requirements and payment methodologies.
- Correctly record contractual adjustments based on payer contracts and government regulations.
- A minimum of two years' experience in end-to-end revenue cycle processes, encompassing eligibility verification, charge review, claims submission, and denial management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with exceptional communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members and healthcare providers in a fast-paced environment.
