Web Development Leader

This role involves overseeing the creation of large-scale web projects and promoting best practices within a team. You will be responsible for identifying risks and communicating them to relevant stakeholders, asking the right questions to move projects forward.

You will design and implement well-tested and documented software, lead in our engineering process through code and architectural reviews, and contribute to technical documentation to make it the best of its kind. You will also seek improvements to engineering and operations practices.

  • Identify key areas for improvement and drive initiatives to enhance them
  • Design and implement well-documented software solutions
  • Debug and resolve user issues efficiently
  • Lead the team in following best practices through code and architectural reviews
  • Contribute to high-quality technical documentation
  • Pursue opportunities for process enhancements
  • Deploy and manage services developed by the team
  • Support product success through technical advocacy

We are looking for someone with:

  • The ability to set technical quality standards through architectural approaches that align with business objectives
  • A strong emphasis on soft skills and being passionate, enterprising, thoughtful, and self-motivated
  • An exceptional academic record from both high school and university
  • An undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related field, or a compelling alternative path narrative
  • A track record of driving results and exceeding expectations
  • Strong organizational skills, self-initiative, and the ability to meet deadlines
  • The capacity to research new technologies and integrate changes effectively
  • Exceptional code review skills and an eye for accessibility and performance
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
  • Experience with Linux (Debian or Ubuntu preferred)
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • A result-driven approach with a commitment to meeting goals
  • The ability to travel twice a year for company events

Nice-to-have skills:

  • Experience with containerization technologies such as LXD, Docker, and Kubernetes
  • Ability to foster and maintain a talented team by defining excellence
  • REST API design, development, and governance expertise
  • Drive for performance engineering and security experience
