Conversational AI Prompt Engineer

This role is pivotal in designing, testing, and refining conversational flows that drive natural, effective, and compliant interactions between AI voice/chat agents and end-users.

You will work closely with developers, linguists, and QA testers to improve AI responses and reduce errors. A strong background in linguistics, communications, AI/ML, or computer science is required. Proven experience working with LLMs or conversational AI platforms is highly regarded.

The successful candidate will have exceptional writing and editing skills, with a focus on clarity and tone adaptation. They will also be able to analyse data, spot patterns, and recommend improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, write, and optimise prompts for conversational AI systems.
  • Translate business requirements into effective conversational flows and dialogue structures.
  • Collaborate with developers, linguists, and QA testers to improve AI responses and reduce errors.
  • Analyse transcripts and call/chat logs to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct A/B testing and fine-tuning of prompts to maximise accuracy, compliance, and user satisfaction.
  • Document prompt libraries, version changes, and testing results for knowledge transfer.
  • Ensure that prompts reflect brand voice, regulatory compliance, and cultural context.
