Software Engineer, Developer Tooling and Containers

Join us in crafting innovative tools for software engineers. We are looking for a skilled professional to work on a new open-source developer experience tool. Our goal is to rethink typical developer workflows, preserving what people love about traditional Linux while enabling better work in immutable distro environments and with remote cloud resources.

This role involves designing user experiences, writing high-quality code, and ensuring correctness and robustness of the work. You will be working closely with teams inside and outside Canonical to create a seamless experience.

  • We require experience with Go, Python, C, or C++ programming languages, as well as knowledge of Linux system-level fundamentals such as cgroups and namespaces.
  • You should have a strong academic track record from both high school and university, and hold an undergraduate degree in a technical subject or a compelling narrative about your alternative chosen path.
  • Excellent communication skills, including written and spoken English, and presentation skills are essential.
