Paraplanner Job Description

The Paraplanner plays a vital role in the financial planning process, working closely with advisors to prepare and implement comprehensive plans for clients. As a key member of the team, the successful candidate will have excellent analytical skills and be able to work well under pressure.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist senior advisors in creating comprehensive financial plans for clients
  • Conduct research on insurance products, financial concepts, superannuation, and tax strategies to support the development of financial plans
  • Prepare and analyze financial needs analysis reports to identify opportunities for growth and improvement
  • Collaborate with advisors to identify appropriate investment strategies based on client needs and goals
  • Attend client meetings with advisors to present and review financial plans
  • Work with clients to gather necessary financial information and documents
  • Understand and interpret legal documents related to insurance products
  • Manage and update client information in the company's database

Required Skills and Qualifications

\
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Paraplanner or in a similar role in the financial industry
  • Accounting or similar experience is highly advantageous
  • Strong numerical and logical reasoning skills, with excellent mathematical ability
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Familiarity with legal documents related to insurance products
  • A desire to become an expert in both insurance products and financial planning
  • Excellent command of the English language
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office
  • Meticulous attention to detail, especially in calculations and materials prepared
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative when needed
