Sector Overview
The energy sector plays a crucial role in ADB's Strategy 2030, aiming to promote sustainable development and alleviate poverty in the region. ADB seeks a highly qualified individual to lead its energy transition efforts in the Asia-Pacific region.

Job Summary
This position requires an expert in the field of energy with significant experience in leading cross-functional teams and developing innovative solutions to complex development challenges. The successful candidate will oversee the formulation and implementation of ADB's energy strategies, engage with governments and stakeholders, and identify opportunities for private sector development and public-private partnerships.

Main Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain ADB's energy strategies and operational plans aligned with its Strategy 2030.
- Lead technical and operational matters on frontier technologies and integrated climate-resilient cross-sectoral solutions for decarbonation in the energy sector and other relevant sectors.
- Foster innovation in policy and operational issues, thought leadership, and future-looking initiatives to help develop future business.
- Work in partnership with other sector offices, regional departments, and with the Private Sector Operations Department and Office of Markets Development and Public-Private Partnership to find collaborative and innovative solutions to complex development challenges.
- Provide corporate knowledge support, including reporting, briefing papers, and speeches.
- Provide guidance, advice, and comment on energy sector issues, including regional cooperation and integration, sector reforms, and governance.

Requirements
- Master's degree or equivalent in engineering, economics, finance, business administration, or related fields.
- At least 12 years of relevant professional experience in the energy sector, including significant expertise within a specific area of ADB's operations or breadth across multiple areas with in-depth knowledge within one area.
- Credible expert in the field of energy with recognized ability to lead projects and share relevant knowledge to benefit the broad ADB community.
- Ability to perform effectively as a mission leader or team lead, exercising supervision, coordination, and planning responsibilities over multi-disciplinary teams/units.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- International experience working in several countries.
