Bookkeeper and Tax Specialist Job Description

This is a highly sought-after role for an experienced bookkeeper and tax specialist to manage financial records, prepare taxes, and provide expert advice on financial compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage accurate and up-to-date financial records for multiple clients, including accounts payable and receivable.
  • Record daily financial transactions and reconcile bank statements.
  • Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, including profit and loss reports and balance sheets.
Tax Preparation:
  • Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and small businesses.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and deadlines.
  • Advise clients on tax-saving strategies and financial planning to minimize tax liabilities.
Financial Analysis:
  • Analyze clients' financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.
  • Provide recommendations for budgeting, forecasting, and financial management.
Client Consultation:
  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding their financial situation and tax obligations.
  • Address client inquiries and provide solutions related to tax and bookkeeping issues.
Requirements:
  • Bookkeeping experience, with a strong focus on tax preparation and compliance.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar.
  • Knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
