Cloud Platform Reliability Expert

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior AWS Site Reliability Engineer to join our cloud platform team. As a key member of our cross-functional team, you will combine deep technical expertise in AWS cloud infrastructure with strong leadership capabilities in incident response and system reliability.

• Lead incident response from initial detection, real-time mitigation, root cause analysis, post-mortem documentation, and implementation of lessons learned to drive continuous improvement.
• Develop and execute comprehensive incident response strategies to minimize downtime and business impact.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to ensure continuous system availability and respond to critical issues promptly.
• Implement and maintain comprehensive observability solutions using Cloudwatch, DataDog, or similar monitoring platforms to gain valuable insights into system performance.
• Maintain, improve, and optimize AWS infrastructure using Terraform while ensuring scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Continuously assess and enhance AWS infrastructure to optimize performance and cost-effectiveness.
• Monitor and optimize serverless technologies including AWS Lambda and API Gateway for peak performance and cost efficiency.
• Monitor and maintain ECS Fargate deployments for containerized applications, ensuring optimal resource utilization.
• Collect and analyze metrics to identify resource consumption, abnormal behavior, and potential performance bottlenecks.
• Configure and manage alerting, dashboards, and automated monitoring across distributed systems.
• Foster improved collaboration between development and operations teams by implementing SRE practices and driving a culture of continuous learning.

• Previous experience in a DevOps or SRE role with a strong track record of delivering high-quality results.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Proven experience in incident response and 24/7 on-call responsibilities with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Expert-level knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, primarily Terraform, and ability to demonstrate experience with other IaC tools.
• Expert-level knowledge of AWS compute infrastructure and ability to design and implement scalable and efficient architectures.
• Proficiency in automation tools and scripting languages to streamline processes and improve productivity.
• Strong understanding of monitoring, metrics collection, and performance analysis to drive data-driven decision making.
• Expert knowledge of observability and monitoring platforms such as DataDog, New Relic, Prometheus, or similar tools to gain valuable insights into system performance.
• Experience with log aggregation, APM, and distributed tracing to identify and resolve complex issues.
• Excellent collaboration abilities and capacity to work effectively in cross-functional teams to drive outcomes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex issues and drive continuous improvement.

• Experience with incident.io is highly desirable.
• A background in payments and PCI compliance environments is highly desirable.
• AWS certifications are highly valued.
• Experience with container orchestration and microservices architecture is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments is highly desirable.
