Job Description

We are seeking a Payroll Tax Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing tax support to clients, ensuring accurate submission of payroll taxes, and maintaining client communication.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in payroll tax, human resources, or payroll administration, with a strong understanding of auditing techniques and principles. They will also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work individually and in a team environment.

  • Provide tax support to clients, including tax compliance and accurate submission of payroll taxes.
  • Maintain client communication, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Assess customer health using defined processes to ensure risk mitigation.
  • Review and audit payroll commits to ensure employees are taxed appropriately.
  • Partner with customers and internal payroll teams to process payroll tax adjustments accurately.
  • Conduct monthly audits to ensure customers' wages and rates are accurate.
  • Assist customers with timely and accurate pre-funding requests for stock transactions.
  • Review W-4 Form exemptions monthly to perform reasonability checks for customers' employees.
  • Stay up-to-date on tax and compliance changes and work with customers to ensure alignment.
  • Perform quarterly and year-end audits to balance customers' and employees' taxes, preventing W-2Cs.
  • Review tax code fallouts weekly, work with customers to register accounts with applicable agencies, and reconcile any withheld deposits.
  • Work with customers and internal partners to process amendments promptly.
  • Collaborate with customers and internal teams to ensure W-2Cs are processed timely.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience: 3+ years required, 5+ years preferred in payroll tax, human resources, or payroll administration.
  • Education: A high school diploma or GED is required. A bachelor's degree in business, tax, human resources, or equivalent experience is desired.
  • Certifications: FPC or CPP certification required or commitment to obtain within two years of employment.
  • Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, time management skills, strong customer focus, analytical and problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work individually and in a team environment.
  • Knowledge: Demonstrated proficiency in auditing techniques or principles, detailed understanding of payroll and tax compliance, and knowledge of applying employee state and local taxation based on regulatory requirements.
