Operational Risk Management Specialist

The Operational Risk Management Specialist reports directly to the Senior Manager of Operational Risk & Resilience Oversight. The role focuses on Business Continuity Management and is part of the second line of defense independent oversight function.

This position will partner with first-line businesses to ensure that business continuity management frameworks and controls are integrated with and strengthen operational resilience approaches, addressing all standard and regulatory requirements.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and coordinate business continuity risk management standards and continuously monitor their governance.
  • Analyze regulatory requirements on business continuity risk and identify best practices to support relevance.
  • Engage with stakeholders across different risk segments to gather feedback and provide effective tracking mechanisms for managing change.
  • Oversee business disruption risk metrics from first-line defenses and identify potential breaches.
  • Develop training materials and facilitate trainings as necessary.
  • Promote a strong risk culture and oversee relevant risk assessment processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in operational risk management with a well-understood connection to Crisis Management, Incident Management, Disaster Recovery, and Third-Party Risk Management.
  • Strong knowledge of operational processes, risks, and controls.
  • Broad knowledge of financial services and related products.
  • High proficiency in MS Office and data analytics tools is desirable.
