We're seeking a seasoned IT Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member, you'll play a vital role in designing, maintaining, and optimizing cloud and hybrid environments that support financial trading operations.

This remote position is ideal for a cloud infrastructure expert with deep experience in Microsoft Azure and M365. You'll be responsible for providing L1/L2 support for cloud and on-prem systems, including Azure VMs, storage, and networking.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cloud & Infrastructure Operations
    • Provide timely support for cloud and on-prem systems, ensuring seamless functionality.
    • Maintain system health, perform patching, backups, and configuration reviews to prevent disruptions.
    • Troubleshoot escalated issues across Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, and GCP to minimize downtime.
  • Network & Security Administration
    • Administer Azure and Microsoft 365, ensuring secure compute, IAM, and monitoring practices.
    • Enforce cloud governance, tagging, and cost optimization strategies to maximize efficiency.
    • Support automation using Terraform, Ansible, and scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash) to streamline processes.
    • Administer Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Intune, Defender, and Purview, ensuring robust security and compliance.
    • Manage identities, licensing, conditional access, and compliance policies to safeguard data.
    • Virtualisation & HCI Support VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, and HCI platforms, performing VM provisioning, migrations, and performance tuning.
  • Backup & Disaster Recovery
    • Execute DR testing and maintain business continuity documentation to ensure smooth operations.
  • Security Operations
    • Monitor and respond to alerts from SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection platforms to mitigate threats.
    • Enforce access controls, MFA, DLP, and compliance standards to protect sensitive data.
    • Work with L1/L3 teams to resolve incidents and implement infrastructure changes, minimizing impact.
    • Participate in CAB meetings and document change impacts, ensuring transparency.
    • Recommend performance and cost-efficiency enhancements to optimize resources.
    • Stay current with cloud technologies and contribute to automation and knowledge sharing, driving innovation.
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in financial services or trading environments, with a strong understanding of market dynamics.
  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, GCP, VMware, and HCI, with hands-on experience in deployment and management.
  • Familiarity with Citrix, Active Directory, Windows Server, and backup systems, with a focus on integration and security.
  • Experience with endpoint protection, threat analysis (CrowdStrike/Defender), and IT monitoring tools, with a emphasis on proactive detection.
  • Linux administration (RHEL, Ubuntu) and shell scripting, with a focus on automation and process improvement.
