Exciting Opportunity for a Medical Transcriptionist

We are seeking a highly skilled and meticulous medical transcriptionist to support our eye care specialists during patient consultations. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in documenting encounters in real-time, helping optimize clinical workflow and ensure accurate medical records.

Responsibilities:

• Attend patient consultations virtually or in-person to transcribe interactions with ophthalmologists and optometrists
• Input notes into electronic health record (EHR) systems using Windows-based software while observing HIPAA compliance
• Manage and organize large volumes of medical files securely on a personal PC
• Flag and clarify inconsistencies in visual exam documentation and diagnostic data
• Maintain templates for eye exams, surgical consultations, and follow-ups
• Assist providers by streamlining administrative and documentation duties

Requirements:

• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, OneNote) for documentation and file tracking
• Ability to navigate EHR platforms (e.g., Compulink, RevolutionEHR, or similar eye-care systems)
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Familiarity with ophthalmologic terminology (e.g., refraction, tonometry, fundus exam, etc.)
