Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator Manager to join our team at Lewis Glanz Consulting. As the lead of our database administration function, you will be responsible for designing, testing, and implementing databases that meet the organization's strategic objectives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain database solutions that enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness.

The successful candidate will possess a strong background in database administration, with experience working with MySQL and MariaDB. They will also have hands-on experience creating, maintaining, and supporting databases in a high-transactional environment. Additionally, they will demonstrate proficiency in SQL Language and advanced skills in SQL tuning.

The ideal candidate will be able to apply critical thinking skills, collaborate effectively across teams, and provide leadership beyond immediate responsibilities. They will also be proficient in writing and optimizing complex SQL statements and have experience handling very large volumes of data. Furthermore, they will possess in-depth knowledge of industry standards and best practices in database administration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • 1. Design, test, and implement databases that meet the organization's strategic objectives.
  • 2. Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain database solutions.
  • 3. Lead a team of database administrators, providing guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise.
  • 4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement database solutions that support the organization's strategic objectives.
  • 5. Develop and maintain database performance tuning, optimization, backup, and recovery strategies.

Requirements:
  • 1. Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in Database Administration, with a strong emphasis on MySQL and MariaDB.
  • 2. Hands-on experience creating, maintaining, and supporting databases in a high-transactional environment.
  • 3. Proficiency in SQL Language and advanced skills in SQL tuning.
  • 4. Experience in replication configuration in MySQL and MariaDB environments.
  • 5. Ability to apply critical thinking skills, collaborate effectively across teams, and provide leadership beyond immediate responsibilities.
  • 6. Proficient in writing and optimizing complex SQL statements.
  • 7. Experience handling very large volumes of data.
  • 8. In-depth knowledge of industry standards and best practices in database administration.
  • 9. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication), or an equivalent qualification.
