About the role:

This senior software development position requires bringing expertise in designing and developing solutions for customers. You will help lead teams to success.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing, developing, maintaining, and deploying applications that deliver business value.
  • Taking technical responsibility for all stages in the software development process.
  • Providing advice, guidance, and assistance to less experienced colleagues as required.

You will also create automated test cases, perform manual testing of software when needed, design, implement, and maintain deployment pipelines, and contribute to identifying new areas of software process improvement within the organization.

Gathering data and evidence to make better technical decisions, investigating incidents in the production environment, suggesting and implementing fixes, contributing to future mitigations of issues, identifying and analyzing hazards, and contributing to the identification and evaluation of risk reduction measures.

Discovering customer needs, designing, implementing, and testing solutions to customers' needs. Selecting and using tools to clarify, test, and improve user experience, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure that software solutions enable business strategy and growth.

The ideal candidate should have substantial personal responsibility and autonomy, ability to collaborate effectively, representing engineering in product discussions, ability and willingness to learn, take on new tasks, explore new tools, technologies, and techniques.

Critical thinking to provide constructive feedback on products, technical solutions, and ways of working, contributing to technical and product discussions, using data and evidence to influence peers and stakeholders, self-management and self-reflection, leadership skills, influencing others in the team to ensure a healthy team culture.

Technical qualifications include a qualification in a related discipline or equivalent practical experience, demonstrated experience in a number of software product teams, with an agile software development approach, 7 years' experience in related fields, advanced understanding of Typescript/Javascript, understanding of various coding practices, design patterns, algorithms, and data structures.
