Job Description

Overview

Freelance Peer Reviewers are sought after to assess the quality and validity of research manuscripts in the field of Hematology.

The selected candidates will be responsible for evaluating the novelty, study design, methodology, literature review, results, and conclusions of the submitted manuscripts.

They will also provide constructive feedback to authors suggesting improvements or highlighting any flaws, omissions, or ethical concerns.

Based on their evaluation, the journal editor will decide whether the manuscript should be accepted, revised, or rejected.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessing Manuscripts: Evaluating the originality, novelty, and significance of the research.
  • Study Design and Methodology: Assessing the appropriateness, comprehensiveness, and clarity of the study design and methods.
  • Literature Review: Checking whether the manuscript incorporates and cites relevant research in the field.
  • Analyzing Results and Conclusions: Evaluating whether the results are presented clearly and appropriately, and whether the conclusions are supported by the data and significant to the field.
  • Providing Constructive Feedback: Offering suggestions for improvement or highlighting any flaws, omissions, or ethical concerns.
Requirements
  • Doctorate (PhD/MD) or equivalent advanced degree in Hematology or a related field.
  • At least two publications in the last two years in the field of Hematology.
  • Thorough understanding of research methodologies and ethical principles within the discipline.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to provide clear, concise, and constructive feedback.
  • Ability to adhere to deadlines and manage time effectively.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and objectivity.
  • Prior experience as a peer reviewer for academic journals is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with online manuscript submission and review systems.
