Mid-Senior Accounting Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced accounting professional to join our team as a Senior Accountant. This is a full-time opportunity that offers competitive compensation and remote work arrangements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of UK accounting standards, regulations, and best practices. They should be able to review and oversee the work of junior accountants, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and prepare financial statements, VAT returns, corporate tax returns, and other accounting deliverables for submission to clients;
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of UK corporate tax returns, VAT returns, and P11Ds while ensuring regulatory compliance;
  • Supervise and review UK payroll processes, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations;
  • Assist in preparing statutory accounts for UK limited companies in accordance with UK accounting standards;
  • Work closely with junior bookkeepers providing guidance and constructive feedback while ensuring deadlines are met;
  • Effectively liaise with clients regarding financial reports, tax matters, and compliance requirements.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a UK accounting firm or equivalent;
  • Strong understanding of UK accounting standards, regulations, and best practices;
  • Proven ability to review and oversee the work of junior accountants;
  • In-depth knowledge of UK corporate tax, VAT, P11Ds, and statutory accounts up until submission;
  • Extensive experience managing UK payroll and HMRC compliance;
  • Leadership and team delegation skills;
  • Software proficiency in Xero and other UK accounting software;
  • Detail-oriented and analytical skills;
  • Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal).

Desirable Skills:

  • ACCA or equivalent qualification (preferred but not mandatory).
