Mechanical Engineer - Fire Sprinkler Designer

This is a mechanical engineer role with fire sprinkler design and estimation responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will work on designing and estimating fire protection systems for various commercial and residential projects, primarily in New York City.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create fire sprinkler system designs using AutoCAD, Revit, and MEP software.
  • Estimate project costs and prepare take-offs using Planswift and Excel.
  • Evaluate designs to ensure compliance with New York City Building Codes and applicable standards (NFPA, etc.).
  • Develop system layouts by reviewing architectural and mechanical plans.
  • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and clients remotely.
  • Use Fire Elite or equivalent software for hydraulic calculations and system optimization.
Requirements:
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Planswift, Excel, and Fire Elite.
  • Knowledge of MEP design tools.
  • Familiarity with New York City Building Codes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong time management skills.
  • At least 2 years of experience in fire sprinkler design and estimation.
