Progress OpenEdge Software Developer

We are seeking a skilled Progress OpenEdge software developer to join our team. As a key member of our technical staff, you will design and implement projects and new client deployments using our Multipub product.

This is an excellent opportunity for a talented individual to contribute to the development of high-quality software solutions that meet our strategic business objectives. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver cutting-edge technology and drive innovation in the industry.

  • You will develop and maintain applications using Progress OpenEdge ABL (Advanced Business Language) and optimize existing applications for maximum speed and scalability.
  • You will design, code, test, and debug complex programs, ensuring they meet our high standards for quality and reliability.
  • You will collaborate with our Product team to translate requirements into technical specifications and participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards.
  • You will document technical specifications and maintain system documentation to ensure seamless knowledge transfer and continuity.
  • You will troubleshoot production issues and provide timely solutions to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.

To be successful in this role, you must have a strong background in Progress ABL/4GL programming and experience with Progress Database administration and performance tuning. You should also be familiar with source control systems and have a solid understanding of SQL and relational database concepts.

Preferred qualifications include experience with Progress Dynamics/WebSpeed, WinForms, Docker containerization, and private cloud platforms. If you possess these skills and are looking for a challenging and rewarding career opportunity, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain applications using Progress OpenEdge ABL

  • Collaborate with our Product team to translate requirements into technical specifications
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience with Progress OpenEdge Development (Version 11.x or higher)
  • Strong proficiency in Progress ABL/4GL programming
  • Experience with Progress Database administration and performance tuning
  • Familiarity with source control systems
  • Understanding of SQL and relational database concepts
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
