Job Title: Medical Claim Specialist
We are seeking a detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Medical Claim Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely submission of medical claims to insurance providers.
Responsibilities:- Claim Submission: You will submit claims electronically to the payers via our software within 72 hours after the date of service.
- Denial Management: You will correct claims and resubmit any denied claims within 7 days of receiving; some denied claims may require additional information from insurers or may need to be appealed.
- Payer Communication: You will pull reports/EOBs from insurers' payment websites and post payments to acusimple. Send these reports to our bookkeeper to reconcile with our bank accounts. Contact any insurers that report sending payment but have not posted payments.
- Credentialing: You will ensure that credentialing is up to date with each insurer every time we add a new provider or one leaves our practice.
- Attention to Detail: You must have attention to detail to accurately complete and submit claims.
- Communication Skills: You must possess excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively communicate with insurance providers and other stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving Skills: You must be able to analyze and resolve issues related to denied claims and payer communication.
- Skillset: Familiarity with medical billing software and systems, including acusimple.
