Remote Healthcare Assistant Job Description

The primary role of this position is to provide administrative support for healthcare services remotely. This involves handling various tasks related to patient care, including data entry, appointment management, and document processing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Document new patient information and referrals in accordance with medical records protocols
  • Manage appointment bookings, cancellations, and rescheduling for patients and healthcare providers
  • Input patient information, medical records, and billing data into electronic health record systems
  • Assist with insurance claims processing, verifying patient insurance information, and addressing billing inquiries
  • Provide patient information and direct them to relevant healthcare professionals as needed
  • Conduct data analysis, prepare reports, and maintain accurate records
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to privacy guidelines
  • Coordinate the transfer of medical records to authorized parties upon request

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a medical-related field or equivalent experience
  • At least one year of experience as a Medical Virtual Assistant
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills (C1 level)
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and practices
  • Proficiency in electronic health record systems and ability to troubleshoot technical issues
  • Knowledge of healthcare privacy regulations
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Technical proficiency and familiarity with current technologies
