Insurance Specialist Job

Serve as a key team member in the commercial lines department, providing education to clients and attracting new business.

  • Develop proposals for agency producers to increase revenue growth.
  • Quote policies with top-rated carriers, such as Auto-Owners and Liberty Mutual, to provide clients with optimal coverage options.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products and markets to make informed decisions.
  • Focus on client retention and sales growth by cross-selling and expanding existing accounts.
  • Service existing clients through personal interactions, email, or phone calls by preparing renewals, processing claims, and making policy changes.
Requirements:

Insurance Knowledge & Experience

  • 5-7 years of experience in commercial lines insurance (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of property and casualty insurance policies, coverages, and products.
  • Familiarity with independent insurance agencies' operations.
  • Knowledge of quoting policies with major carriers.

Customer Service & Communication Skills

  • Excellent spoken and written English skills.
  • Experience handling customer inquiries, policy changes, and claims assistance.
  • Ability to professionally manage and respond to phone calls and emails.

Sales & Upselling Abilities

  • Ability to recognize opportunities for cross-selling or upselling policies.

Administrative & Process-Oriented Skills

  • Ability to manage certificates of insurance, evidence of property insurance, and homeowners insurance documentation.

Technical & System Proficiency

  • Experience with agency management systems.

Time Management & Organization

  • Ability to accurately process multiple tasks under deadlines.

Professionalism & Work Ethic

  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in all interactions.
