Rent Collection Specialist

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Rent Collection Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in rent collection, property management, or a related field and be proficient in communication and negotiation skills with a focus on customer service.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with tenants to resolve any disputes or questions related to their rent payments or leases while ensuring all collection processes adhere to legal requirements and company policies.

Responsibilities
  • Initiate and follow up on rent payment reminders, ensuring tenants are aware of their payment due dates
  • Engage with tenants via phone, email, or messaging platforms to discuss payment issues, establish payment plans, and provide assistance when needed
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all rent payments, payment plans, and communication logs in our property management system
  • Work collaboratively with tenants to resolve any disputes or questions related to their rent payments or leases
  • Provide regular updates to management regarding outstanding payments, collection efforts, and tenant interactions
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Previous experience in rent collection, property management, or a related field preferred
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills with a focus on customer service
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple accounts effectively
  • Proficiency in property management software or databases is a plus
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and empathy when dealing with tenants
