Laboratory Data Analyst

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented laboratory data analyst to join our team at SGS. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemistry, with experience in GC, HPLC, and lab management systems.

The successful applicant will be responsible for performing various data processing functions, including laboratory data calculations, integrations, quality control checks, and LIMS entries. They will also ensure that all testing methodology and quality control procedures are performed according to ISO 17025 and assigned SGS lab standards.

In addition, the candidate will maintain a working knowledge of all required analytical procedures in the section and look for efficiency gains by being aware of new technologies and reviewing existing procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform data processing functions, including laboratory data calculations, integrations, quality control checks, and LIMS entries
  • Ensure testing methodology and quality control procedures are performed according to ISO 17025 and assigned SGS lab standards
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all required analytical procedures in the section
  • Look for efficiency gains by being aware of new technologies and reviewing existing procedures

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor of Science degree (Chemistry preferred) from an internationally accredited institution
  • A minimum of one year lab experience, including a minimum of 6 months HPLC, GC, and/or GC-MS operating experience paired with a formal training course
  • Prior experience with LIMS and ChemStation or Mass Hunter software is a plus
  • Experience with Data Review of lab results
  • Demonstrated commitment to data quality and operational excellence
