About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Data Solutions Architect to join our team at IBM. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing big data solutions that meet the needs of our clients.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will have experience in data engineering activities such as creating pipelines/workflows for source to target and implementing solutions that tackle client needs. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Strategic Data Model Design and ETL Optimization: Design, build, optimize, and support new and existing data models and ETL processes based on client business requirements.
  • Robust Data Infrastructure Management: Build, deploy, and manage data infrastructure that can adequately handle the needs of a rapidly growing data-driven organization.
  • Seamless Data Accessibility and Security Coordination: Coordinate data access and security to enable data scientists and analysts to easily access data whenever they need it.

You will also provide support for deployed data applications and other data consumers by identifying data problems and guiding issue resolution with partner data engineers and source data providers.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Development experience in big data software development technologies such as Python, Hadoop, Hive, or Spark.
  • A proficient background in Unix or Linux programming language.
  • A good understanding of SQL and RDBMS.
  • Experience modeling data for relational, analytical, and big data workloads.

In addition, you will be required to work on a client-based schedule (day shift, mid-shift, night-shift) and in any IBM location in Quezon City (Eastwood and/or UP Ayala Technohub) or Cebu.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience with big data tools such as Python, Hadoop, Hive, or Spark is preferred. A proven background in SQL, Unix/Linux, and ETL process is also beneficial.
