Job Title: Database Administrator

At SQME Professionals Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database management, administration, and security.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develops, implements, and maintains database ecosystems to ensure security and integrity of all databases.
  • Ensures accurate and regular backups of databases by checking and tracking daily backup files.
  • Performs periodic restoration of backed-up databases to ensure correctness of procedures, data security, and availability.
  • Submits weekly activities, internal control checklists, and DB performance reports.
  • Reviews, recommends, applies, and tests patches, changes, and/or modifies relational database file definitions and schemas.
  • Develops, documents, and maintains procedures for patch loads, data backups, restores, performance tuning, and configurations.
  • Devises, develops, and implements database disaster recovery and archiving procedures.
  • Maintains updates on new technologies and recommends strategic direction in the application of these technologies for business solution needs.
  • Assists the Unit Manager, Server Support in preparing the annual budget for database-related functions and projects.
  • Assists and works closely with Applications Development for new projects and applications that require database installation, administration, and maintenance.
  • Liaises with web developers to enable online database access and resolve associated problems.
  • Collaborates with vendors and Business Systems Development & Support in the design and development of databases to meet new user needs and respond to technological innovations.
  • Submits project accomplishment reports for review by the Unit Manager, Systems Support.
  • Manages all aspects of databases in Makati Medical Center, including installation, configuration, monitoring performance, fine-tuning, backup/restore procedures, disaster recovery procedures, patch and upgrade management, and resolution of database-related issues with vendors or third-party.
  • Leads in the architecture, implementation, and support of enterprise-wide data warehouse and data marts.
