Job Profile

The primary objective of this role is to design and operate cloud infrastructure, encompassing OpenStack, Kubernetes, and software-defined storage. This will enable the implementation of devsecops practices for applications running on this infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include leveraging Python software-engineering skills and rigorous approaches to optimize operations within the domain. Practicing devsecops from bare metal to application will be a core aspect of this position.

Operational tasks involve managing hundreds of private cloud, Kubernetes, and application clusters across physical and public cloud estates using automation and a universal operator pattern. Model-driven operations will also be integral to this role.

A scientific approach to operations will be adopted, relying heavily on metrics and code. Understanding the entire stack from bare metal networking and kernel up to serverless and open source applications will be essential.

This position requires working in a high-pressure environment with mission-critical services for global brand name customers.

Experience in a broad range of cloud technologies and staying current with open source infrastructure advancements will be expected.

Required skills include proficiency in cloud architecture, devsecops, containerization, and serverless computing. Knowledge of OpenStack and Kubernetes will be beneficial. Experience in Python programming and automation tools will be advantageous.
