Job Overview

The role of a Freelance Peer Reviewer involves evaluating manuscripts for originality, assessing study design and methodology, conducting literature reviews, analyzing results, and providing constructive feedback. This position is ideal for individuals with a doctorate degree or equivalent in epidemiology, possessing excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, as well as strong written communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate Novelty: Assess whether the manuscript introduces new knowledge or insights to the field of study.
  • Study Design and Methodology Evaluation: Determine whether the study design and methods are appropriate, comprehensive, and clearly described to ensure accurate reproduction of research.
  • Literature Review: Check if the manuscript incorporates and cites relevant, up-to-date research in the field.
  • Results and Conclusions Analysis: Evaluate the presentation of results and conclusions to determine their significance to the field.
  • Provide Constructive Feedback: Offer suggestions for improvement or highlight flaws, omissions, or ethical concerns.
  • Recommend Publication: Based on evaluation, suggest whether the manuscript should be accepted, revised, or rejected.

Prior experience as a peer reviewer for academic journals is highly desirable, as well as familiarity with online manuscript submission and review systems.
