The role of a Financial Professional is to maintain accurate financial records, prepare reports and ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies and regulatory requirements.

This position involves a variety of accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations and general ledger maintenance. It covers multiple locations and the incumbent will be responsible for ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and update general ledgers ensuring accuracy and completeness of all transactions.
  • Assist in the preparation of ad hoc and monthly reporting as required.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Assist in the treatment of prepayments, accruals and capitalization.

Accounts Payable and Receivable:

  • Verify payables entries to the correct subsidiary, department and location.
  • Report on payables and receivables, assist both AP and AR departments in reporting complete with days outstanding calculations.

Reconciliations and Analysis:

  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
  • Reconcile subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances and opportunities for cost control.
  • Project (costs) Accounting.
  • Manage the AP team's credit card processing and refinements.

Compliance and Audit Support:

  • Prepare documentation and schedules for internal and external audits.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for regulatory reporting.

Other Duties:

  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting requested by management.
  • Assist with company policies implementation and policing/monitoring.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
  • CPA certification or equivalent preferred.
  • Proven experience in general accounting or a related field.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, standards and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Australian standards optimal, NZ and US additional.
  • Proficiency in accounting software i.e. Oracle NetSuite preferred and MS Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
