As a senior member of the team, you will contribute to architectural decisions, mentor other engineers, and ensure best practices are implemented across the backend infrastructure. This is a hands-on role that requires a balance of technical expertise, collaboration, and strategic thinking.

Your responsibilities include developing scalable, reliable, and high-performance APIs as part of the API team, actively contributing to system scoping, drafting technical specifications, and conducting code reviews. You will establish and maintain best practices for backend infrastructure with a strong focus on scalability, reliability, and maintainability.

You will design and implement robust test cases for new APIs and integration capabilities, deploy changes and execute migrations in an agile, iterative manner while ensuring backward compatibility. Additionally, you will mentor junior engineers and foster knowledge sharing through code reviews and technical sessions.

You'll troubleshoot production issues across various services and infrastructure layers, collaborate with cross-functional teams to scope, design, and deliver key features on the product roadmap. Furthermore, you will participate in the continuous improvement of processes and tools related to CI/CD, observability, and the overall development workflow.

The ideal candidate has a degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, with a minimum of 6 years of professional experience in backend software development, focusing on public-facing API products.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Deep knowledge of full-stack technologies required to build and run APIs
  • Expertise in RESTful API design and implementation
  • Proven experience with microservices architecture and event-based technologies such as webhooks
  • Applied AI tools and technologies in API development and integration workflows
  • Proficiency in SQL and advanced database design
  • Hands-on experience with observability and monitoring tools
