Job Overview

We are seeking an accomplished Australian Tax Accountant to excel in our organisation. The successful candidate will possess extensive experience in Australian taxation and accounting, with a solid understanding of the GST system.

The ideal candidate will have 6 years' experience working with a public practice or accounting firm offering Australian taxation services. They will be Xero Certified and have strong working experience with various accounting systems.

The role requires exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as outstanding attention to detail and accuracy. The successful candidate will be proactive, highly organised, and self-motivated, with a willingness to continue learning and progressing in their career.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review financial data, ensuring the accuracy of coding
  • Prepare annual financial statements for various entity structures
  • Complete annual tax returns within business timeframes
  • Assist with bookkeeping duties and BAS lodgment (where required)
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Australian taxation and accounting expertise is essential
  • 6 years' experience with a public practice/accounting firm offering Australian taxation services is required
  • Knowledge and experience in accounting for companies, partnerships, and trusts, including preparation of financial statements and annual tax returns
  • Strong working experience with Xero, XPM, and other various accounting systems
  • Xero Certified is required
  • Solid understanding of the Australian GST system (including BAS and IAS)
  • Prior experience with Office 365, Karbon, and SuperMate is desirable
  • Certified Accountant/CPA is advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must have great attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to follow process/system
  • Must be proactive, highly organised, and self-motivated
  • Motivated to continue learning and progressing in their career

This is a full-time remote position, requiring discipline and commitment to set working hours. You will work a fixed shift and maintain a high level of professionalism and accountability.
