Project Director Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Project Director to drive product development and business growth from inception to launch and beyond.

This role focuses on strategic planning, leadership, and platform/feature enhancement to deliver exceptional results. Key responsibilities include:

  • Strategic Planning: Develop comprehensive plans for Engineering and Business projects, including third-party integrations, marketplace expansion, eCommerce technology, and business initiatives such as General Ledger replacements and department tool enhancements.
  • Leadership: Lead business projects across the organization, ensuring seamless collaboration among teams.
  • Platform & Feature Enhancement: Streamline and automate processes, continuously improving platform and toolset features to meet evolving business needs.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Stakeholder Engagement & Requirements Gathering: Facilitate discussions with internal and external stakeholders to gather product requirements and feedback, ensuring the Engineering team receives sufficient detail on business needs.
  • Product Definition & Prioritization: Capture high-level product requirements and translate them into actionable tasks, prioritizing based on LOE and/or ROI with respect to corporate goals.
  • Business Solutions: Collaborate with Business Departments to design and develop technology-based process improvements that drive automation.

Requirements & Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Education & Experience: A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent practical experience) and at least 5 years of related PM experience, ideally with eCommerce knowledge.
  • eCommerce Platform Expertise: Understanding of eCommerce platforms, ERP systems, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Databases (SQL Server and MySQL), and reporting platforms (Cognos and MS SSRS).
  • Product Documentation: Document product requirements with sufficient clarity for technical teams.
  • Requirements Analysis: Perform thorough requirements analysis through independent research and testing methodologies.
  • Project Management Tools: Proficiency with Jira, Asana, Monday.com, or similar PM tools.
  • Methodology Acumen: Knowledge of SDLC, Agile, Scrum, Kanban, GAP Analysis, SWOT, and related methodologies.
  • Communication Skills: Articulate complex concepts to business audiences.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Collaboration: Work effectively in a dynamic team environment.
  • Strategic Mindset: Challenge status quo and contribute innovative ideas.
  • Client-Facing Experience: Direct client-facing experience is desirable but not mandatory.
