We are seeking a skilled finance professional to fill a critical role in our accounting department. As a senior accountant, you will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy and quality of financial statements, tax returns, and other accounting deliverables.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Review and oversee the work of junior accountants to ensure compliance with UK accounting standards and regulations.
  • Prepare and submit UK corporate tax returns, VAT returns, and P11Ds while maintaining regulatory compliance.
  • Supervise and review UK payroll processes to ensure compliance with HMRC regulations.
  • Assist in preparing statutory accounts for UK limited companies in accordance with UK accounting standards.
  • Provide guidance and constructive feedback to junior staff while ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Liaise with clients regarding financial reports, tax matters, and compliance requirements.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of UK accounting standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Proven ability to review juniors' work, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK corporate tax, VAT, P11Ds, and statutory accounts up until submission.
  • Extensive experience managing UK payroll and HMRC compliance.
  • Experience in supervising and mentoring accounting teams.
  • Strong working knowledge of Xero and other UK accounting software.
  • High level of accuracy, problem-solving ability, and analytical thinking.
  • Excellent English language proficiency (written and verbal).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ACCA or equivalent qualification (preferred but not mandatory).
