The role of an AU Accountant involves managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and preparing financial reports. This individual will have a degree in accounting or a related field, with a minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage daily receipting, monthly bank reconciliation, and bank account administration tasks.
  • Investigate term deposit investments and maturity communications to ensure compliance.
  • Analyze financial reviews and reports to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and manage monthly cashflow forecasts to inform business decisions.
  • Conduct year-end financial checks and accrual journals to maintain financial integrity.
  • Prepare and review annual budgets to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Issue contribution levies to relevant parties and coordinate audit processes.
  • Liaise with external auditors on audit queries to resolve any issues efficiently.
  • Onboard new business opportunities and offboard lost clients while maintaining relationships.
  • Prepare and review quarterly Business Activity Statements (BAS) to ensure accuracy.
  • Compile and submit yearly tax returns, ensuring all required information is included.
  • Process management agreements and update systems as necessary to reflect changes.
  • Review bot exception reports and complete tasks manually when necessary.
  • Coordinate body corporate loans and their management to ensure compliance.
  • Communicate effectively with various stakeholders, providing explanations and relevant information as needed.
  • Attend virtual finance meetings with external clients to discuss financial matters.
  • Administer miscellaneous charges to owners, such as utility bills and parking fees.
  • Process payroll and superannuation for employees, including those employed by other companies.
  • Investigate ad hoc bank deposit recalls and dishonoured payments to prevent future occurrences.
Requirements
  • A degree qualification in accounting or a similar discipline is essential.
  • At least 4 years of accounting experience are required, with a strong focus on budget preparation.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills are necessary for this role.
  • Familiarity with financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow, is crucial.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required to effectively communicate financial information.
  • Knowledge of Income Tax and BAS is highly desirable, but not essential.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills are necessary to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Data accuracy and attention to detail are critical components of this role.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently is essential, with a high level of self-motivation and initiative.
