Australian Taxation Specialist

This is a remote, full-time position for an experienced Australian tax accountant. The ideal candidate will have expertise in taxation and accounting with a strong working knowledge of Xero and other accounting systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Review financial data for accuracy of coding
  • Prepare annual financial statements for various entity structures
  • Complete annual tax returns within business timelines
  • Assist with bookkeeping duties and BAS lodgment (where required)
Requirements:
  • Australian taxation and accounting experience is mandatory
  • 6 years of experience with a public practice/accounting firm offering Australian taxation services is necessary
  • Knowledge and experience in accounting for companies, partnerships, and trusts are essential
  • Xero Certification is a must
  • Solid understanding of the Australian GST system (including BAS and IAS) is required
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are expected
  • Motivation to continue learning and progressing in their career is desired

This role requires discipline, commitment to set working hours, use of time-tracking software during work hours, active participation in team and client calls, consistent availability and responsiveness throughout your shift, and treating this as a long-term, full-time job.
