Senior Bootloader and System Engineer

Canonical seeks a seasoned engineer to maintain and enhance the Ubuntu bootloader stack.

The ideal candidate has experience with early boot software, non-x86 platforms, and a passion for Linux systems, hardware architectures, and open-source communities.

  • Design, develop, and collaborate on core components involved in the boot process of the Ubuntu Distribution.
  • Work with upstream communities, including Grub, shim, and u-boot.
  • Contribute to feature and bug fixes, debug issues, and produce high-quality fixes.
  • Collaborate with distributed teams, mentor junior engineers, and participate in code reviews.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Development experience with TF-A, OP-TEE, U-Boot, shim, GRUB, or the Linux kernel.
  • Experience on non-x86 platforms, such as ARM or RISC-V.
  • A strong love of technology and working with brilliant people.
