Primary Duties And Responsibilities

Interviews and examines patients

Teaches asthma patients how to properly inhale the aerosols

Monitors the oxygen levels in patient's blood and adjusting treatment accordingly

Administers proper amounts of oxygen to patients

Provides artificial breathing – in the form of ventilators – to patients who cannot breathe on their own

Analyzes the amounts of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and pH levels in a patient's blood

Tests individual lung capacities of patients

Drains mucus from patient's lungs using chest physiotherapy

Adjusts medical machinery, as needed, to appropriately treat the patient

Pulmonary rehabilitation

Runs diagnostic tests
