Purpose of the position

The role will provide quality inspection and inspect the construction activities within the project standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • In coordination with the Project team, acts as the 'Works Engineer' on the site for day-to-day contract management, technical and legal supervision/monitoring of the progress and quality of the construction works to ensure that the Project is constructed in accordance with the approved plan. Advise the project team of any aspect of the construction that does not conform to the approved plan.
  • Monitor, provide comments, and certify compliance of the Contractor's quality assurance system, environmental management system, occupational health and safety management program, traffic management program, security, and all other programs necessary during construction;
  • Conduct regular inspection of the construction site and facilities to determine the compliance and adherence with the approved plan and MPSS.
  • Report any defect found on the constructed facilities and recommend appropriate actions and procedures to the team for the immediate correction of the defects by the Contractor.
  • Review, evaluate, certify, and recommend through the designated team/personnel for approval of the final documentations of the project including As-Built Drawings, Final Quantification, test records, etc;
  • Review, evaluate, certify, provide comments and recommend through the designated team/personnel for approval any Variation Orders as may be proposed by the Contractor.
  • Prepare and issue notices of non-compliance to the approved plan, Employer's Requirements and MPSS with recommendation for immediate rectification and/or revision for resubmission and approval
  • Prior to the issuance of Certificate of Final Acceptance, carry out the following:
  1. In coordination with the designated team/personnel, the Contractor and concerned agencies, conduct the 'Commissioning and Acceptance Test' in accordance with the approved Commissioning and Acceptance Plan;
  2. Prepare a Punch List of items that need corrections, rectifications, and/r adjustments;
  3. Prepare the 'Commissioning and Acceptance Notice' and recommend, for approval the issuance thereof based on the results of the 'Commissioning and Acceptance Test'
  4. In coordination with the project team, the Contractor and concerned agencies, conduct the Final Inspection of the constructed facilities upon completion of the items for correction, rectification and adjustment as specified as specified in the Punch List;
  5. Prepare a report and certify to the designated team that the project components and requirements are in good operating condition and meets the requirement of the Commissioning and Acceptance standards;
  6. Prepare, submit and recommend through the designated team/personnel for approval/issuance the 'Certificate of Final Acceptance', upon determination that (a) construction has been completed, (b) Punch List has been rectified, and (c) the Commissioning and Acceptance Test completed;
  • Prepare and submit the required reports and deliverables of the Consultancy Services covered within the activity period.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • With 5 years of work experience as a Quality Control Inspector/ Project Inspector in the Construction industry.
  • Strong regard for quality assurance according to quality control standards and procedures.
  • With tunnel, reclamation and/or hydropower projects experience is an advantage
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation and reporting skills.
  • Good team player who can work efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Willing to accept Project-based status (1 year /6 months project-based)
  • Willing to work onsite in Bulacan/ Pasay/ Rizal site
