Ensures all actions are taken , as appropriate, to complete the procurement cycle for requested materials or services. This includes, but is not limited to,
Source a mandatory minimum three independent quotes per request in accordance with the Company policies.
Always confirm delivery schedule with suppliers and the requestor
Accurately and quickly communicate to the requestor if a supplier needs additional information or clarification about the material/service requisition.
Resolve delivery and quality issues.
Resolve receiving and invoice payment issues.
Professionally negotiate with suppliers
Build strong relations with vendors and align vendors costs with MTSC 's commercial needs.
Efficiently overcome “roadblocks” in the procurement process. Immediately seek support from immediate supervisor only if the “roadblock” can be resolved by invoking his /her rank (i.e . quick release of payment, ect.).
Accurately input and maintain system data into the Company's accounting software . The Purchasing Officer is required to record this information daily so updated reports are published daily.
Methodically file purchasing all documents in accordance with company policies.
Cooperate closely with colleagues and stakeholders in all departments.
Assist the Management team with adhoc duties within the purchasing department as required.
Strictly adhere to the Company's “Code of Conduct".
Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, finance, or related field preferred
At least 3 to 5 years in a marine-industry experience with consistently increasing responsibilities in purchasing, expediting, and tracking services for assigned group vessels.
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to negotiate, establish, and process contracts
Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
Accurate and precise attention to detail
Able to make decisions in a fast-paced environment
Willing to start immediately.
