Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain relational and non-relational database systems.

Optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and storage management.

Implement data backup, recovery, and archiving strategies.

Collaborate with software developers, data analysts, and DevOps teams to integrate databases with applications.

Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with industry standards.

Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues proactively.

Automate routine database tasks using scripting and tools.

Document database schemas, processes, and best practices.


Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Proven experience with database technologies such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, or MongoDB.

Proficiency in SQL and experience with database design and normalization.

Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL).

Experience with data modeling tools and ETL processes.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., Cassandra, DynamoDB).

Knowledge of data warehousing and big data technologies.

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code.

Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or AWS

Certified Database - Specialty.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
