Job Description:
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Cashier to join our team at Next Health Diagnostics. As a Cashier, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic's financial transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct audits and coding reviews to ensure all documentation is accurate and precise.
2. Preparing bills and invoices, and documenting amounts due for medical procedures and services.
3. Assist receptionists with patient coordination, schedule follow-up visits and answer calls/ book appointments as necessary.
4. Manage up-to-date clinic income records by sending and receiving bank checks and documenting all relevant transactions.
5. Examining patient bills for accuracy and requesting any missing information.
6. Handle all payments to clinic suppliers and accurately enter daily payment activities (credit, insurance, cash, check, payments for previous visit) into the software management system.
7. Fill out and file insurance forms for payment as requested.
8. Receive EFTs for corporate/ insurance payments.
9. Transfer income activities to QuickBooks system on a daily basis.
10. Assign and sequence all codes for services rendered.
11. Review the physician’s coding at charge entry to ensure compliance with HMOs guidelines and ensure accurate and timely reimbursement.
12. Provide information pertaining to billing, coding, managed care networks, insurance carriers, and reimbursement to physicians, managers and subordinates.
13. Maintain an organized, efficient, and professional work environment.
14. Adhere to all practice policies related to NHD and HMOs.
15. Monitoring and recording late payments.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent; additional education or training in accounting or finance is a plus.
• Previous experience as a cashier or in a similar role preferred.
• Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to handle transactions accurately and responsibly.
• Familiarity with basic computer applications and cash register systems.
• Trustworthy and able to maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations with composure.
