Position: Agriculturist (Crop/Nursery /Greenhouse and Animal)

Job Overview:

Animal:
Agriculturist is responsible for the care and feeding of cattle. They raise these animals from birth until slaughter to ensure they meet certain standards of quality and health; involved in the sale or distribution of their products.
Also, Agriculturist on this manner must make sure that their herds are healthy and well-fed at all times. This means they need to know about proper nutrition and how different types of feed affect the taste and texture of meat.
Crop/Nursery /Greenhouse:
Perform numerous tasks related to growing and harvesting grains, fruits, vegetables, nuts, and other crops. They plant, seed, prune, irrigate, and harvest crops, and pack and load them for shipment. Also apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides to crops. They repair fences and some farm equipment.
For Nursery and Greenhouse, prepare land or greenhouse beds for growing horticultural products, such as trees, plants, flowers, and sod. They also plant, water, prune, weed, and spray the plants. They may cut, roll, and stack sod; stake trees; tie, wrap, and pack plants to fill orders; and dig up or move field-grown shrubs and trees.
Duties and Responsibilities

Animal
• Monitoring the health of animals and administering vaccinations as needed
• Feeding cattle, managing hay supply, and maintaining pastures
• Providing medical care for animals when necessary, such as administering antibiotics or treating wounds
• Inspecting livestock for signs of disease or injury
• Monitoring water quality to ensure that it is safe for consumption
• Breeding cattle to produce offspring with desirable traits such as increased meat production or disease resistance
• Inspecting fences to ensure that they are secure and in good repair
• Determining the best time to sell or slaughter livestock based on market prices or other factors such as animal reproduction cycles or drought conditions
• Maintaining accurate records of feed intake, food costs, and weight gain or loss to help with future planning
• Examine animals to detect symptoms of illnesses or injuries and administer vaccines to protect animals from diseases
• Use brands, tags, or tattoos to mark livestock ownership and grade
Crop/Nursery /Greenhouse:
• Oversee the production and care of plants, fruits and vegetables
• Manage crop scheduling for timing of appropriate planting and harvesting
• Perform propagation, irrigation, and pest management of plants
• Control plant growth regulation through mixing and testing fertilizers, and monitor injectors in greenhouses
• Responsible for greenhouse environment management and maintenance of plant material in assigned greenhouses
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture or related field
• Fresh Graduates are eligible to apply.
• Agricultural practices relating to forage and livestock production.
• Passionate in agriculture with knowledge in horticultural, pest control, landscaping, safety procedures, and greenhouse operations.
• Expertise in vegetable and herb crops, fruit bearing, and non-fruit bearing trees, ornamental plants, and animals.
• High attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills; clean and tidy.
• Willing to learn and listen.
• Works with minimal supervision and work collaboratively with team/s.
• Analytical and creative when problem solving; solution-oriented.
