Accounting Analyst

Role Summary

The Accounting Analyst ensures accurate, timely, and efficient financial operations in a fast-paced food and beverage (F&B) environment. The role covers end-to-end accounting processes across accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory and cost accounting, cash and general accounting, and financial and managerial reporting, while ensuring compliance with internal controls, company policies, and statutory requirement.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Prepare and issue customer invoices on a timely basis.
• Record daily sales, collections, and deposits from all sales channels.
• Monitor overdue accounts and coordinate with operations or sales for resolution.
• Perform monthly reconciliation of AR balances with customer ledgers.

Accounts Payable (AP)

• Verify supplier invoices against purchase orders, delivery receipts, and contracts.
• Process vendor payments within agreed credit terms and approval matrix.
• Maintain supplier records and payment schedules.
• Reconcile AP balances with supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.

Inventory & Cost Accounting

• Record and monitor inventory transactions, including receipts, transfers, spoilage, and wastage.
• Conduct periodic and physical inventory counts and reconcile with system records.
• Track COGS and ensure accurate costing of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods.
• Prepare variance analyses between standard and actual costs.
• Support pricing decisions and cost-saving initiatives.
• Maintain cost standards, BOM accuracy, and inventory valuation.
• Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end inventory counts.

Cash & General Accounting

• Handle petty cash reimbursements and monitor liquidation of advances.
• Record and reconcile cash transactions and bank statements.
• Prepare journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Assist in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing.
• Monitor accruals, prepayments, and adjusting entries.
• Analyze financial data and prepare management reports.

Financial Reporting

• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS).
• Support consolidation and group-level reporting as needed.

Managerial Reporting

• Prepare management reports (budget vs. actual, variance, profitability by store/product).
• Provide cost and expense trend analysis to support decision-making.
• Coordinate with operations, supply chain, and finance teams for financial insights.

Compliance

• Ensure proper documentation and safekeeping of accounting records.
• Support compliance with statutory and government requirements (BIR, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG).
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting policies.

Audit Support

• Prepare audit schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documents.
• Address audit findings and support implementation of recommendations.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and reduce manual work.
• Recommend improvements in controls and reporting accuracy.
• Support system implementations or upgrades (ERP/accounting software).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in AR, AP, inventory & cost accounting, cash, general accounting, and reporting.
• Experience in F&B, retail, or fast-paced environments is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Philippine taxation, statutory reporting, and BIR compliance preferred.
• Proficient in Google Workspace (Sheets); ERP/accounting system experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.
