Laboratory Chemical Technician

1. Performs the required chemical and physical analyses of accepted samples according to specified methods and procedures.
2. Ensures that required analyses are finished on time for release of results to customer.
3. Prepares and submits reports to the Laboratory Supervisor for review and signature.
4. Prepares the required reagents and maintains the assigned equipment for proper conduct of the laboratory tests.
5. Prepare samples for subcontracting to other laboratories for analyses that cannot be done at FAST laboratory.
6. Encodes and submits analytical raw data to the Chemist for review and report generation.
7. Strictly implements the established laboratory quality system based on PNS ISO 17025.
8. Observes protocol on corrective and preventive measures for non-conforming work.
9. Monitors supply inventories needed for physical and chemical tests.
10. Prepares and follows-up P.R. / P.O. for materials / supplies to be purchased and inspects chemicals and supplies delivered.
11. Implements guidelines on: good housekeeping in the laboratory and its environment, safety guidelines and proper and efficient disposal of laboratory wastes.
12. Participates in Proficiency Testing and other Quality Assurance programs of the laboratory, including method verification and validation as required.
13. Provides assistance in the conduct of special projects.
14. Represents F.A.S.T. Laboratories in professional circles, technical fora, etc., as required.
15. Reports directly to the Laboratory Supervisor and Laboratory Business Manager.
16. Performs other tasks as necessary to support the laboratory’s objectives.
