Inventory Data Analyst

JOB PURPOSE:

As an Inventory Data Analyst specializing in Sales, Operations, and Inventory, you will be responsible for analyzing and reporting on sales performance, operational metrics, and inventory levels. You will play a pivotal role in preparing reports for sales and operations meetings and will monitor and control inventory to ensure efficient stock management and smooth business operations. Your insights will help guide strategic decision-making in sales, inventory control, and overall operational efficiency.

Job Description:

1. Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Supply to develop and maintain accurate forecasts for all product lines using historical data, market trends, and sales input.
2. Utilize statistical tools, software, and cutting-edge research to evaluate forecast models and explore new methodologies for predicting future inventory accurately.
3. Regularly review and adjust forecasts based on market dynamics, historical data, and stakeholder input.
4. Lead the S&OP process to align inventory with supply and support business objectives.
5. Facilitate monthly S&OP meetings with cross-functional teams to review inventory and address any discrepancies. Communicate inventory forecasts and status to relevant stakeholders regularly.
6. Provide actionable recommendations based on data analysis to optimize sales performance and streamline operations.
7. Lead and support the preparation of the sales budget for the upcoming operational year.
8. Conduct monthly reviews of actual sales performance versus budget and prior-year figures with the sales team, analyzing variances at the SKU, market, and customer levels.
9. Perform in-depth analysis to identify trends and recommend an optimal sales mix to maximize profitability (for each Salesman).
10. Align on and update the latest full-year sales estimate (actualized months + projected balance months) by SKU, market, and customer every third week of the month, providing key inputs for the Latest Estimate (LE) Profit & Loss statement.

1. Collaborate with Warehouse teams to monitor and optimize inventory levels across all warehouses to ensure product availability while minimizing excess and obsolete stock.
2. Implement inventory control processes and best practices and strategies to optimize inventory turnover and reduce carrying costs.
3. Monitor stock turnover rates, aging inventory, and other key inventory KPIs.
4. Provide actionable recommendations based on data analysis to improve inventory management.

1. Create and maintain dashboards that track sales, operational metrics, and inventory levels using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Excel to present key insights to stakeholders.

1. Identify opportunities for process improvements in inventory management.
2. Introduce best practices and leverage emerging technologies to enhance accuracy and efficiency in processes.
3. Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in inventory management methodologies.
4. Automate data extraction and reporting processes to streamline the preparation of reports and ensure timely delivery of insights for decision-making.
5. Regularly assess and refine reporting processes, ensuring that sales, operations, and inventory data is accurate, relevant, and actionable.

Job Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; Master's degree and accounting background will be an advantage.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in Data Analyst or in a similar role with a focus on sales, operations, and inventory management, preferably in the pet food or consumer goods industry.
3. Experience with S&OP processes and inventory management.
4. In-depth knowledge and proficiency of Advanced Planning Systems (SAP, APS, etc) and ERP systems is expected.
5. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
6. Hands-on experience with MRP, purchasing, and production planning systems.
7. Proficient in relevant Microsoft applications, including Office, Project, Power BI.
