Host Security Support Engineer

Seeking an experienced individual that has strong agent-based security tools experience but not limited to and should have working experience in other host security solutions such as email security, anti-malware systems, database activity monitoring, file integrity monitoring, disk encryption, host-based forensics, application whitelisting and vulnerability management.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Configure, maintain and monitor agent-based host security technologies as assigned to support engineering initiatives.
  2. Follow and develop processes to ensure agent-based host security technologies functionality/availability and host-based agents are performing as designed and communicating with the central management servers.
  3. Provide support to other internal teams to resolve technical challenges related to host security technologies.
  4. Provide operational metrics as directed.
  5. Provide evidence as directed, to support audit and compliance initiatives.
  6. Continue self-development of knowledge, skills and abilities to better support execution of the team.
  7. Develop effective teamwork and leadership skills.
  8. Maintain and support agent-based host security tools and architecture, including reports and alerts.
  9. Work with Security Incident Response Team (SIRT), other engineering teams, application owners, and other security engineers to validate reports and alerts are accurate and events are appropriately worked upon.
  10. Create and maintain documentation such as design documents, runbooks, how-to guides, and diagrams.
  11. Engineer, secure, and advance agent-based host security technology solutions.
  12. Assist in automating agent-based host security technologies into monitoring and other environments.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Security, or Information Systems with relevant security engineering certifications (preferred).
  2. Minimum work experience of 3 years in supporting or handling agent-based host security solutions such as anti-malware systems, database activity monitoring, file integrity monitoring, disk encryption, host-based forensics, server administration, application whitelisting and vulnerability management.
  3. Familiar with audit processes; ability to follow and maintain process documentation.
  4. Hands-on Linux administration.
  5. Knowledgeable in working with virtual machines and variables/structure.
  6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  7. Experience working in a globally dispersed, team-oriented, collaborative, matrix-oriented environment.
  8. Solid experience with at least two different agent-based host security technologies.

Intermediate Skills:

  1. Linux server administration.
  2. Windows server administration.
  3. Scripting/Automation.
  4. Configuring, deploying hardware and implementing virtual servers.

Advanced Skills:

  1. Troubleshooting alerts, events and configuration items.
  2. Understanding of encryption technologies and methodologies.
  3. Understanding of email security and gateways.
