Job Description: Technology Testing Analyst

Position Summary: We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Technology Testing Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will specialize in testing newly developed reports in IBM Cognos, Power BI, and other IT tools, including in-house or third-party-developed applications. This role also requires expertise in testing Bullhorn customizations, ensuring the quality, accuracy, and performance of tailored solutions within the Bullhorn platform. Proficiency in report validation, data testing, and advanced troubleshooting is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Report Testing and Validation:
   1. Conduct thorough testing of newly developed reports in IBM Cognos, Power BI, and other reporting platforms to ensure accuracy and functionality.
   2. Validate data integrity and consistency by comparing report outputs against source data.
   3. Identify and report discrepancies, errors, or inconsistencies in reports and collaborate with developers to resolve them.
2. Bullhorn Customization Testing:
   1. Test and validate Bullhorn customizations to ensure they meet business requirements and function seamlessly within the platform.
   2. Conduct regression testing to ensure existing Bullhorn features are not impacted by new customizations.
   3. Provide feedback and suggestions to optimize Bullhorn configurations and integrations.
3. Tool and Application Testing:
   1. Test new tools, features, or updates developed internally or by third-party vendors.
   2. Ensure compatibility, performance, and usability of IT tools across different platforms and user environments.
   3. Conduct functional, regression, and performance testing as required.
4. Defect Tracking and Resolution:
   1. Document, track, and manage defects using industry-standard tools.
   2. Work closely with developers and stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of issues.
   3. Participate in root cause analysis to prevent recurring issues.
5. Test Planning and Execution:
   1. Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test scripts, and test cases based on business requirements.
   2. Prioritize testing activities to align with project timelines and deliverables.
   3. Automate repetitive testing tasks where feasible to improve efficiency.
6. Collaboration and Stakeholder Communication:
   1. Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and end-users to understand requirements and define testing objectives.
   2. Communicate testing progress, results, and issues effectively to project teams and management.
   3. Provide feedback and recommendations to enhance report and tool development processes.
7. Quality Assurance Best Practices:
   1. Implement and adhere to testing best practices, methodologies, and standards.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Technical Expertise:
   1. Proven experience testing reports in IBM Cognos and Power BI.
   2. Proficiency in testing Bullhorn customizations, including workflows, integrations, and tailored features.
   3. Strong understanding of report development and data validation processes.
   4. Familiarity with SQL for data analysis and query validation.
   5. Hands-on experience with testing methodologies (functional, regression, system, and performance testing).
2. Additional Skills:
   1. Knowledge of scripting or automation tools for testing processes.
   2. Experience with defect tracking tools such as JIRA, Bugzilla, or similar.
   3. Understanding of ETL processes, data warehousing concepts, and integrations with Bullhorn is a plus.

Education and Experience:

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
2. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in testing and quality assurance, with a focus on reports, IT tools, and Bullhorn customizations.
3. Certifications in testing (e.g., ISTQB, Certified Software Tester) or data analytics tools (e.g., IBM Cognos Certification, Power BI Certification) are a plus.
