Position Overview
We are looking for a Multimedia Artist / Video Editor to join our growing broadcast and digital media team.
The role will primarily focus on video editing and post-production, creating engaging, accurate, and polished video content for our broadcast, social media platforms, website, and other digital channels.
The ideal candidate has a strong eye for visual storytelling, understands pacing and composition, and can work efficiently under tight deadlines. Experience in news, journalism, broadcast, or digital media is an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Edit video content for broadcast, social media, and digital platforms.
Assemble raw footage into clear, engaging, and visually compelling stories.
Create and edit news packages, interviews, explainers, reels, short-form videos, and other multimedia content.
Add graphics, titles, captions, transitions, sound effects, music, and other post-production elements as needed.
Prepare videos in appropriate formats, aspect ratios, and resolutions for different platforms.
Work closely with writers, reporters, producers, social media staff, and other members of the editorial team.
Help develop the visual style and identity of the organization's upcoming broadcast.
Create basic motion graphics and animated elements when required.
Assist in filming or gathering visual assets when necessary.
Organize and manage video files, project files, footage, and other digital assets.
Ensure all video content is factually accurate and consistent with editorial standards.
Meet production deadlines, including the ability to work on quick-turnaround content when news or current events require it.
Stay updated on current video, editing, social media, and digital storytelling trends.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or relevant training in Multimedia Arts, Digital Media, Film, Communication, Broadcasting, or a related field is preferred.
Proven experience in video editing, multimedia production, or a related role.
Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, CapCut or equivalent.
Working knowledge of Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar design and motion graphics software is an advantage.
Strong understanding of video composition, pacing, audio, color, typography, and visual storytelling.
Ability to create content for both horizontal and vertical formats.
Strong attention to detail, particularly when handling names, dates, captions, graphics, and other factual information.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with an editorial team.
Ability to manage multiple projects and work under tight deadlines.
Willingness to adapt to a fast-paced newsroom and broadcast environment.
Preferred Skills
Experience working in news, broadcast, journalism, or digital media.
Experience producing content for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and other digital platforms.
Basic knowledge of motion graphics and animation.
Basic camera operation and lighting skills.
Basic audio recording and mixing skills.
Understanding of broadcast graphics and newsroom workflows.
Strong sense of what makes video content engaging without compromising editorial quality.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who can tell a story visually, not simply someone who knows how to operate editing software.
You should be comfortable taking raw footage, identifying the strongest moments, building a coherent narrative, and turning it into a finished piece of content.
Because this role will support an upcoming broadcast, speed, reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to handle last-minute changes are particularly important.
