Shipmanagement Head

Job Description:

Responsible for the establishment, review, implementation, and management of standards and programs related to Shipmanagement Operations ensuring safe, and efficient vessel operations as well as maintaining reliability and availability of the vessels in the fleet to cater to the requirements of the company.

• Ensure management of the day-to-day activities of the department through to ensure vessels are operated to the highest standard with absolute regard to the safety of life at sea and protection of the environment.

• Ensure Proper Risk Management for the entire Shipmanagement Operations

• Ensure vessel availability to trade within the agreed plotted schedules

• Ensure vessel programs and controls are properly executed to ensure On-Time Departure and On-Time Arrival as per Dyno Schedule

• Ensure programs and controls are properly executed to ensure VesselPort Operational Efficiency(opening/closing of hatch covers, lashing/unlashing)

  • Ensure vessel availability to trade within the agreed plotted schedules

  • Ensure vessel programs and controls are properly executed to ensure On-Time Departure and On-Time Arrival as per Dyno Schedule

  • Ensure programs and controls are properly executed to ensure Vessel Port Operational Efficiency (opening/closing of hatch covers, lashing/unlashing)

  • Ensure stakeholders are advised of problems which arise on the vessels.

    • Ensure the implementation of company safety management system fleet wide including conduct of regularly inspection of vessels by concerned units and ensuring internal and external reports are completed within the agreed schedule.

    • Ensure that all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and instructions are complied with.

    • Ensure the vessels' performance through implementation of shipboard maintenance and repair programs, as well as dry dockings.

    • Ensure immediate closure of Audit Findings/ Identified Non-Conformance (Internal or External Audits including Class Audits) within allowed period

      • Ensure Shipmanagement Operations below or within Operational Budget.

      • Approving the dry docking specification and any other major repair work prior to tendering.

      • Approving the annual vessel operating budgets prior to sending to the management and to monitor the development of actual costs throughout the year and to ensure that all costs are vigorously controlled

      • Approving orders, invoices and payments up to limit of authorization.

        • Ensure Planned and Identified Training and Development Programs for both Land and Sea Team are implemented successfully

        • Ensure Identified Succession Planning related activities for the Key positions are successfully implemented and followed

        • Ensure Competency and Performance Evaluation Programs are executed properly (including endorsement of non-performing crew to training/ intervention programs) and timely as per the established crew evaluation protocols

        • Ensure programs for personnel engagement activities are implemented to encourage personnel who are aligned with the company's standards and objectives to stay

        • Ensure various Shipmanagement Units are properly manned with qualified and competent personnel

        • Ensure vessels are properly manned by crews and Masters who are of the highest standard achievable.

Requirements

• Maritime Technical related work back ground

• Project Management

• Physically fit to go onboard vessel as needed

• Good Troubleshooting and Technical analysis

• Graduate of marine or mechanical engineering w/ Strong leadership skills w/ PMS background

• Proficient in MS Office applications

• Strong Knowledge in budget creation Team player

Work Related Experience

• At least 5 years' experience of working same industry

• Preferably with 2 years' experience with Preventive Maintenance Systems

Education Level

BACHELOR'S DEGREE preferable marine engineering
