We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented
Developer Intern to support the ongoing development and maintenance of our ASP.NET C# MVC applications and related services. This role provides hands‑on experience working in a professional software development environment, where all code changes are reviewed through the pull request process and guided by experienced developers.
You will contribute to real projects, enhance your coding skills, learn software development best practices, and gain exposure to application support, testing, documentation, and deployment activities.
Responsibilities
- Work on assigned backlog items, including:
- Bug fixes
- Small feature enhancements
- Code refactoring tasks
- Develop and submit code changes through pull requests for review.
- Write and modify SQL queries and assist with simple stored procedure updates under supervision.
- Support the maintenance of Windows Services, scheduled jobs, and background processing applications.
- Review application logs, investigate issues, and assist in troubleshooting production and non-production incidents.
- Write unit tests for all code developed to ensure quality and maintainability.
- Reproduce, analyze, and document reported defects with clear replication steps and environment details.
- Assist in validating deployments in testing and staging environments.
- Maintain technical documentation, including:
- Setup guides
- Configuration instructions
- Runbooks
- Troubleshooting procedures
- Participate in code reviews by reading pull requests and providing constructive feedback or questions.
- Collaborate with developers, QA, and business stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in:
- Computer Science
- Information Technology
- Software Engineering
- Related technical discipline
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of C# and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
- Familiarity with ASP.NET MVC or .NET development frameworks.
- Understanding of relational databases and SQL fundamentals.
- Basic knowledge of software development concepts and coding standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to code quality.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with Git and source control workflows.
- Basic understanding of pull requests and code review processes.
- Knowledge of unit testing frameworks.
- Exposure to REST APIs and web services.
- Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
- Familiarity with Agile or Scrum development methodologies.
- Experience with Visual Studio and Azure DevOps is a plus.
