Job Description:

Star Eye Specs Corporation is looking for a skilled, detail-oriented, and customer-focused Full-Time Optician/Optical Technician to join our growing optical retail team. As part of our retail stores, you’ll play an important role in providing excellent customer service, assisting customers with eyewear selection, taking accurate optical measurements, and ensuring proper fitting and dispensing of prescription eyewear.

This position is part of our advance hiring for upcoming retail stores. The specific store location and opening date will be communicated once finalized. Successful candidates must be flexible with store assignment and willing to report to the assigned store once it opens.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service & Eyewear Consultation:

• Assist customers in selecting eyeglass frames and lens options based on their prescription, lifestyle, preferences, and needs.

• Explain different lens types, coatings, features, and eyewear options clearly and accurately.

• Provide professional recommendations while maintaining excellent customer service.

• Provide product education and after-sales support to customers.

Optical Measurements & Dispensing:

• Take accurate optical measurements, including PD (Pupillary Distance), OC height, and other measurements required for proper lens fitting.

• Accurately interpret prescriptions and ensure orders are prepared according to prescribed specifications.

• Fit and dispense eyeglasses and contact lenses, when applicable.

• Ensure proper fit, comfort, alignment, and overall quality of finished eyewear.

Lens & Laboratory Operations:

• Operate lens edging and cutting equipment, including manual or automated lens edging machines.

• Perform lens preparation and basic laboratory procedures as required.

• Handle lenses carefully to prevent damage, scratches, or incorrect processing.

• Check finished eyewear for accuracy, quality, and proper fitting before releasing to customers.

Frame Adjustment & Repairs:

• Perform frame adjustments to ensure proper fit and comfort.

• Conduct basic eyeglass repairs and maintenance.

• Assist with cleaning and maintaining optical tools, machines, and equipment.

Store Operations:

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the optical dispensary, laboratory, tools, and equipment.

• Work closely with the Optometrist and other store personnel to ensure smooth patient and customer service.

• Support the successful opening and initial operations of newly established retail stores.

• Follow company procedures, quality standards, and safety guidelines.

• Perform other related optical duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education & Professional Requirements:

• At least 2-5 years of relevant experience in an optical clinic, optical laboratory, eyewear retail store, or similar setting.

• Experience as an Optician, Optical Technician, or similar optical role is preferred.

• Knowledge of optical products, lenses, frames, and basic dispensing procedures.

• Familiarity with different lens types, including single vision, multifocal, progressive, blue-light, and other specialty lenses.

Technical Skills & Competence:

• Proficient in taking optical measurements such as PD and OC height.

• Familiarity with lens edging machines, lens cutting equipment, frame adjustment tools, and other optical equipment is preferred.

• Good understanding of optical measurements, prescriptions, and basic optical calculations.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when preparing and dispensing eyewear.

• Ability to identify basic fitting issues and perform appropriate adjustments.

• Willingness to learn and adapt to new optical technology, equipment, and procedures.

Customer Service & Communication:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong customer service and patient-handling skills.

• Ability to explain lens and eyewear options clearly to customers.<
